Paediatric Exercise Physiology
What is Early Intervention
Paediatric Exercise Physiology?
Alignment Kids paediatric exercise physiology focuses on helping children build strength, coordination, endurance, and motor skills through movement-based therapy. It's all about using exercise as a tool to support physical development, promote health, and improve quality of life.
For children with developmental delays, neurological conditions, or physical challenges, Exercise Physiology helps them achieve key motor milestones like sitting, crawling, walking, and running. It also enhances their ability to participate in play, sports, and everyday activities.
Our Paediatric Exercise Physiologist creates customised programs tailored to your child’s unique abilities and goals. Through fun, engaging activities, to improve strength, balance, and motor control while boosting confidence and fostering a love for movement.

Pediatric Exercise Physiology focuses on long-term health by using exercise to improve strength, coordination, and overall movement. It helps children develop essential motor skills, prevent injury, and build a foundation for healthy physical activity.
Physiotherapy, on the other hand, is traditionally more about treating injuries and pain. Physiotherapists use techniques like manual therapy, stretching, and rehabilitation exercises to help children recover from injuries and treat pain.
-
Sessions typically last between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your child’s needs and emotional regulation capacity.

Our Paediatric Exercise Physiologist primarily works with infants and toddlers in an early intervention setting, focusing on supporting their development through tailored programs. These programs are designed to address specific milestones, motor skills, and movement patterns in the early stages of growth. While our Exercise Physiologist does work with children up to 18 years old, our primary focus is on the early years to ensure the best outcomes for their future development.

If your child has difficulty with movement, motor skills, or developmental delays, a Pediatric Exercise Physiologist can help.
